Compute Ontario released a report based on the two workshops it hosted on developing and promoting Ontario’s highly skilled workforce in the technology sector in early 2020. Held in Toronto and London, these workshops had over 50 representatives from academia, industry, public sector, students and professionals in attendance. The report captures insights gathered from these attendees, seeks to redefine Ontario’s highly-skilled workforce, and highlights the challenges and opportunities that arise from developing and promoting this workforce.
The workshops featured acclaimed keynote speakers from academia, interactive panel discussions and an audience activity that explored the various challenges and opportunities associated with developing and advancing Ontario’s workforce.
The report addresses key issues, such as the current technical skills gap, re-skilling and retraining the workforce, curriculum changes as well as building equity for underrepresented groups and areas. To read the report, please click here.
